Rajshahi is known for its educational, literary and artistic
heritage.It is knownfor its characteristic sweetmeats, not to be found anywhere
else in the country. These special preparations include Roshkodom, Khaja,
Raghobshahi and Kachagolla (Natore is specially known for this particular
sweetmeat). Along with neighbouring Chapai Nababganj, Rajshahi is the home of
the regions best mangoes and lichis. Rajshahi is also the location of Barendra
Museum which is known for its
collection of local sculpture and other artifacts dating from medieval times,
and of Rajshahi silk, the finest silk produced in Bangladesh.
Rajshahi also has Rajshahi College
which is 142 years old. It also has some important structures that has made by
the British like The T Dam.
